| After a two and a half hour flight
from Brussels, we arrived in Lisbon and once through customs, we had
time for a quick visit of the city. |

Lisbon looks both modern
with the Vasco de Gama bridge, major roads and futuristic underground
stations, |
 |

| |

|
|
|
|
|
|
| and old with its narrow-laned historic
districts, houses from the last century, electric trams and « 25
de Abril » bridge. |

Our brief visit took us as far
as the Jeronimos Monastery and Belem.
Once it was over, we headed directly for the north towards Pombal.

| After a two-hour drive through
pine and eucalyptus forests we arrived around 8 pm at the Pombal High
School where the teachers were waiting for us. We were quite amazed
when we realised that the school was still open !!! |
