Introduction to the European Project and its possibilities with the help of the Area Education Authorities and the Socrates Agency in France.
Preparatory visits in Norway and Marseilles

September 97 to September 98 

Finalisation of the project and search for partners, both schools and companies.
Definition of the theme; team building.

September 98 to February 99 

Preparatory visits for all the partners and project set-up .
Search for new partners
Preparatory visits in Marseilles and Pombal.
Preparation of the website

March 99 to February 00 Year 1 of the EEP

Installation of the weather station and the additional equipment in each of the partner schools. Part of the weather station is designed by the students and part of it bought in kit form for immediate use. Production of the website. HTML pages. Communication in French and English between those involved. 

Learning more about meteorology, information technology and languages.

Organisation of the work with precise time-tabling : the « Comenius » period every Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon. Implementation of the multi-disciplinary aspects of the project.

Meetings of the teams in Germany and Italy (Udine) 

Presentation of the project at various events.

March 00 to July 01 Year 2 of the EEP

Experimental recordings from the weather station available on the school Internet server. The data is regularly updated and sent to the partner schools in the form of computer files. 

Interface design and final installation of the existing station. Estimates for the parts to be built with the students.

Meteorology files produced in the school library and available on the website.
Homepages for the new class ; improvement of the website ; increase in the exchanges of mail.

Meetings of the project leaders in Marseilles and Pombal (Portugal) 

Exchange programme between the LPTR School in l’Estaque and the HVS School in Frankfurt, Visit of French students to Germany (October 2000) and German students to France (Aprils 2001) with the participation of certain companies. Teacher exchange with the school in Pombal for the IT aspects of the project.         
Presentation of the project at various events and for Mr Mélenchon, Minister of State for Vocational Training and Mr Treuil, Head of the Aix-Marseille Area Education Authorities. 

August 01 to July 02 application for an extra year of the EEP (year 3)

In order to 

• finalise all the websites in all the partner schools, and  make use of the regularly updated weather data available on the Internet servers, 
• complete all the parts of  the weather station and compare the various elements,
• add the weather data and the homepages of the new classes to the websites
• organise meetings between the project leaders from each school and the young Europeans, and visit the partner companies,
• increase the level exchange between the classes and the teachers, develop the existing exchange programme.
