We were expected at the school
at 9 am. The hotel was a ten-minute walk away so we decided to take
the opportunity to visit the town. It is small (9000 inhabitants)
and very pleasant and the people are friendly and very relaxed.

We were greeted by the
headmaster's representative (the headmaster himself was at a meeting
in Leria for the day and we were due to see him in the evening) who
showed us around and gave us leaflets, post cards and even the school
medal. |

In the course of our visit we saw
the staffroom, classrooms and workshop and were surprised by certain
things: none of the doors were locked and inside the school building
there is a bar where teachers and students alike can come for coffee
and cakes, and a book shop. |

The school opens its doors
at 8 am and does not close until midnight. There are mainstream courses
during the day and evening class after that. |
